The front page of this weekend’s Midi Olympique shows the respective out-halves for Saturday evening’s Six Nations clash in the Stade de France in a mocked-up poster for ‘Fight Club’.

It would perhaps have been a more apt headline for Stewart McKinney’s Ireland debut against Les Bleus in 1972. For while Paris has always been a daunting venue for visiting Irish sides, some five decades ago it was downright dangerous.
