Sport NI needs to start supporting local sport after £1m budget fiasco, says frustrated Minister Gordon Lyons

Communities Minister Gordon Lyons has hit out at Sport NI, stating it was unacceptable that the publicly funded body underspent its budget by £500,000 in each of the previous two years.
In an interview with the Belfast Telegraph, Lyons also insisted that there is ‘too much time and effort being focused on governance’ at Sport NI at present and, moving forward, the organisation needs to concentrate more on actual sport.
