Back-to-back champions Banbridge rounded off their EYHL season with a 2-2 draw away to Corinthians on Saturday afternoon.

Following the game, the club were presented with their EYHL title which they retained by finishing five points clear of Lisnagarvey.

The champions were made to fight back having trailed to a Greg Williams strike late in the second quarter.

Thomas Dobson converted from a penalty corner in the 44th minute before top scorer Louis Rowe got Banbridge’s second just moments later to turn the game on its head and give his side a 2-1 lead.

However, a late Stephen Williams strike saw the Dubliners draw level as the sides shared the spoils.

The results didn’t stop the Banbridge celebrations as they received their second EYHL title in a row having sealed the title with last week’s 5-0 win over UCD.

Lisnagarvey were also held to a 2-2 draw as they sealed second spot following their result against Monkstown.

The League runners-up now progress to the Semi-Finals of the Champions Trophy which takes place in two weeks’ time.

The Ulster side took the lead in the opening stages of the second quarter when Ben Nelson drove past his man and fired in from the top of the circle.

Garvey then doubled their advantage in the 42nd minute when Andrew Williamson continued his fine form in recent weeks to make it 2-0 in the third quarter.

However, their Dublin opponents refused to lie down and got a goal back before the end of the period through Daniel O’Donovan.

Monkstown then drew level with just eight minutes remaining through Sam Hohn to earn a hard-fought point, but the result was still enough for Lisnagarvey to finish second via goal difference.

At the opposite end of the table, Instonians’ disappointing campaign ended with a 5-3 defeat against Glennane.

Three goals from Ben Palmer, Matthew McCord and Joshua Kidd were not enough as the side were relegated from the EYHL for a second time in four years.

The result also sees the side finish the season with just three points and without a win in their 18 games.

The final game of the day saw Annadale earn an impressive 1-1 draw against fourth-placed YMCA.

Michael Robson gave Dale the lead from the penalty spot midway through the third quarter before their opponents got a penalty of their own in the dying stages of the match.

With the stroke being converted by Grant Glutz, the Belfast side ended their campaign with just one defeat in their last four as they confirmed their status in the division for another year.
