NI Football Awards Women’s Premiership Player of the Year Danielle Maxwell has re-joined Cliftonville just a few months after leaving the North Belfast club for Blackburn Rovers.

The 22-year-old first joined the Reds from Glentoran in 2022 and played an integral role in John McGrady’s side winning the league title that season.

Last season, she was part of the team that won both the County Antrim Cup and League Cup. The Northern Ireland international enjoyed a brief spell with English Women’s Championship Blackburn before returning home to pen a two-year deal with Cliftonville.

The new Sports Direct Premiership season starts on Sunday with the Reds set to play Mid Ulster Ladies at Stangmore Park.
