Cliftonville hero Jonny Addis and his wife Olivia have welcomed a new arrival to the family just days after the defender lifted the Irish Cup at Windsor Park.

Addis was part of the Reds team that saw off rivals Linfield in a pulsating Irish Cup final on Saturday to win their first title since 1979.

Goals from Sam Ashford and Rory Hale (2) saw the north Belfast side overturn Ethan McGee’s early goal to seal a 3-1 extra time victory.

Experienced centre-half Addis – who also won the Irish Cup with Glentoran in 2015 – has now capped a weekend of celebrations by welcoming son Levi into the family.

His club posted a message of congratulations on its website on Wednesday afternoon.

"Congratulations from everyone at Cliftonville Football Club to Jonny Addis and his wife Olivia on the arrival of baby Levi,” the club said.

"Just two days after collecting his Irish Cup winners’ medal, Jonny took receipt of another prized addition when his son weighed in at 8lb and 2oz on Monday – no doubt giving proud granda Leslie and the rest of the family extra reason to celebrate on what has been a truly memorable week.”

Addis is a popular figure around the club, and even has a supporters’ club named in his honour.

Reposting the club’s message of congratulations on X, the defender said he had “had worse weeks”.
