BelTel Politics: Col Tim Collins ruffles Alliance feathers, while Irish signs ‘traumatise’

Andrew Madden and Ursula Savage join Ciarán Dunbar to discuss the week in politics

Col Tim Collins will be standing for the UUP in North Down in the next general election

Colonel Tim Collins has been in the news after branding the Alliance Party ‘pro-nationalist’ in a newspaper interview.

The former soldier will be standing for the UUP in North Down in the next general election.

He also said people wouldn’t vote for a united Ireland if it meant losing ‘Disability Living Allowance’.

His party colleague Robin Swann has also made the headlines after he said that he will stand down as Health Minister once a general election is called.

Justice Minister Naomi Long said he still has not made up her mind on whether she will stand for Alliance in East Belfast.

And the Irish language has been making headlines too as the issue of bilingual signs continues to cause controversy in Belfast.

Ciarán Dunbar is joined by Belfast Telegraph reporter Andrew Madden and Newry political commentator Ursula Savage.
