Difficult though it might be to believe, it’s that time of year again when I announce my Premiership Team of the Season — and, once again, I’m sure it’s certain to cause the odd ripple of controversy here and there. I can already hear the cries of ‘Is he for real?!’

But isn’t a wide range of differing opinions what football’s all about? So with my phone fully on mute for the foreseeable future, here’s my line-up for the 2023/24 term.
