Former Northern Ireland international Robert Garrett will be released by Glenavon at the end of his contract.

The 35 year-old midfielder has previously played for both Linfield and Portadown, as well as winning five caps for his country during Nigel Worthington’s tenure as international manager.

Garrett played over 150 games for the Lurgan Blues after signing from Linfield in 2019.

32 year-old midfielder Conor McCloskey will also leave the Mourneview Park, six years after signing from Carrick Rangers. Full-back Conor Kerr and forward Lido Lotefa have also been released, while loanee Gavin Hodgins will return to Shelbourne.

Glenavon boss Stephen McDonnell has transfer listed a further three players, with defender Danny Wallace, midfielder Stephen Teggart and Darren Clarke made available with immediate effect.

A club statement said: “Glenavon FC would like to place on record its thanks to all of the players leaving for their efforts in a Glenavon jersey and wish them well.”

Veteran defender Sean Ward has already confirmed his retirement, while Glentoran’s Rhys Marshall will join the Lurgan Blues at the end of the season.

Any enquiries should be made to Glenavon through the appropriate channels.
