Cliftonville are celebrating their first Irish Cup victory in 45 years with an open top bus parade across Belfast.

The Reds beat Linfield 3-1 after extra time in Saturday’s showpiece final.

Ronan Hale scored two goals in extra time to make sure of the victory in front of a sell-out crowd of 15,000 at Windsor Park.

Monday’s whistlestop tour across the city began at Cassidy’s Bar at 1.15pm, before stops at Market Community Centre, The Rose and Crown, The Devenish, The Rock Bar and The Glenpark, before finishing at Cliftonville’s Solitude stadium at 6pm.

Reds fans were out in their numbers as the Cliftonville players and staff held the Irish Cup aloft during the bus tour.

The jubilant players, who were wearing red and white Cliftonville bucket hats, were singing: “When the Reds, go up, to lift the Irish Cup, oh we’ll be there.”

The bus parade coincides with Cliftonville manager Jim Magilton’s birthday, who was not only celebrating the Irish Cup victory, but also his former side Ipswich Town’s promotion to the Premier League on Saturday.
